Who is Alphington P.T.F.A?
We are a registered charity, set up and run by volunteer parents and friends of the school. Our aim is to provide a forum for parents, friends and teachers to liaise and be involved with the school and to raise money for the school.
Often people think the P.T.F.A is run by the school; however this is not the case. Behind the scenes are just dedicated parent (and grandparents & other friends) helpers who want to provide the best for the children.
Funds raised are spent on items that would not usually be bought out of the school budget, intended to enhance or enrich the children’s school environment.
We are pleased to say that last year (2015/16) the PTFA raised £9,000. This will be spent on a redesigning project on the field to provide a play area for the older children, art aprons for all classes, storage units for Foundation, benches, sandpit, speech and language equipment, presents for new starters (Foundation) and Year 6 leavers in the summer and crackers for the Christmas lunch.
This is made possible because of the many functions we organise, such as school discos, craft events, Christmas fayre, summer fete, refreshments at events and more. These events are only possible because of volunteer helpers.
As a charity we welcome any ideas or support. If you have links or skills that could help us, then please get in touch. Everyone is always welcome to come along to any of our meetings, the dates and times of which are displayed on the PTFA notice boards, on the PTFA section of the school website and on flyers sent home.
If you want to contact us, please use our Facebook page (PTFA Alphington Primary School), email firstname.lastname@example.org or catch one of us at school!
