Year 1 had a fabulous trip last week, travelling to Buckfastleigh to have a journey on a real steam train! Before we went on the train, we were lucky enough to walk around the butterfly centre where we were amazed at some of the amazing butterflies and cocoons! Some of them had large eye patterns on their wings to scare off predators! There were lots of terrapins swimming around as well and some enormous fish!
After that we enjoyed our steam train ride to Totnes where we spent a lovely time feeding lots of rare animals at the rare breeds farm. The turkey made us laugh and we were even allowed to hold the guinea pigs!
We ate a tasty lunch and then travelled back on the train to Buckfastleigh where we visited the otter sanctuary and saw them being fed. They were very cute!
Take a look at our photos and you might even see Explorer Bear who came too!
It was lovely day – the children were fantastic and thank you to all the adult helpers.
