World War Two

Comments Off on World War Two 84

This term the children stepped back in time to discover what life was like in the war. With air raid sirens going off and the announcement of war by Neville Chamberlin on the radio, we began our topic. Delving into our very own Anderson shelter and exploring the many artefacts in the classroom, we quickly learnt about how people dealt with living through the war. Each week, we looked at a different aspect of the war from evacuation to the propaganda used and concluded our learning with a VE Day party. The children have produced some wonderful pieces of poetry and gave presentations which really showed their understanding and empathy for those involved in World War Two.

Well done to everyone who completed the homework project of building an Anderson shelter to fit a specific requirement. A lot of hard work went into them and the results spoke for themselves. We hope you managed to see them on display in the library.
