On Friday 6th January Year 4 were transported back in time to the world of Ancient Greece. We became historians and immersed ourselves in the customs, mythology and theatre of this distant culture. During the day we: dressed in traditional clothing, made Athena’s owl pendants, studied artefacts, built temples, learnt stories about the gods and even performed Greek play.
This exciting and engaging experience has enriched our skills as historians and we were able to:
- Increase our knowledge and understanding about life in Ancient Greece.
- Use replica objects and artefacts to make inferences and deductions about the ways in which the Greeks lived.
- Investigate and answer questions about the Greeks using a range of sources of historical evidence.
- To understand that what we know about the past is dependent on what has survived.
