It was really exciting to have a visit from the Fire Service today. We learned how fire fighters dress in protective clothing and some of us even got to dress up as fire fighters! (Mrs Chapman wished she hadn’t worn her silly socks today!)
We also learned lots of important things about fire safety. Never play with matches or lighters and if you find them, give them to an adult; be careful around candles and flames; never touch an iron or hair straighteners; make sure you have a working smoke alarm in your home and test it regularly. Also, if you are unlucky enough to have your clothes catch on fire, you must STOP, DROP and ROLL.
The fire service were really good fun and we learned a lot – the children were fantastic too and we were really proud of their great listening and ideas.
